Inhalation article on tuberculosis wins publishing award

The Inhalation article "Inhaled therapies for tuberculosis: A viable approach for spray-dried drugs
delivered by handheld dry powder inhaler"
by P. Bernard Fourie, PhD and Oluwarotimi S. Nettey,
MD, MHS has won a silver award in the 2015 annual competition sponsored by the Minnesota
Magazine and Publishing Association.

The article reviews the worldwide incidence and classifications of tuberculosis as well as current
oral and injectable therapies. Next, the authors discuss the potential for inhaled therapies,
including animal and human studies and delivery of spray-dried formulations. The article
includes results of a perception study, which showed healthcare workers would favor inhaled
therapy. The article closes considering future challenges and opportunities.

We appreciate working with Drs. Fourie and Nettey to spotlight this important topic and are
delighted with the recognition.
